`update_document_settings`

Change a HERO document's settings, as its Document settings dialog does; pass only what changes. Change the numbering style or the clause switches only when the user asks. importTermsFrom: a document made under another (a statement of work, schedule, order form or amendment) imports that agreement's defined terms instead of defining them again, and the editor highlights them in it; get\_document\_settings lists the documents it can import from. The reference is set with update\_documents\_meta\_batch. undo\_last\_change puts the settings back.

## Parameters

**documentId** `string`

The document. Falls back to context documentId if omitted.

**numberingStyle** `string, enum: 'STYLE_ONE' | 'STYLE_FIVE' | 'STYLE_THREE' | 'STYLE_FOUR' | 'STYLE_TWO' | 'STYLE_SEVEN' | 'STYLE_EIGHT' | 'STYLE_SIX'`

Clause numbering, the dialog's Hierarchy Style: STYLE\_ONE Decimal (1. · 1.1 · (a)); STYLE\_FIVE Decimal, capital letters (1. · 1.1 · A.); STYLE\_THREE Numbered paragraphs (1. · (a) · (i)); STYLE\_FOUR Roman outline (I. · 1. · (a)); STYLE\_TWO Article & Section, roman (ARTICLE I. · Section I.01 · (a)); STYLE\_SEVEN Article & Section, decimal (ARTICLE I. · Section 1.1 · 1.1.1); STYLE\_EIGHT Article & Section, lettered (Article I · Section 1.1. · (a)); STYLE\_SIX Article, decimal (ARTICLE 1 · 1.1 · 1.1.1). A Word import's own numbering ("as imported") is not among them: a style replaces it, and only undo brings it back.

**insertMissingLevels** `boolean`

Fill a missing clause level in with an empty clause. On unless turned off.

**hideLoneClauseNumbers** `boolean`

Show no number on a sub-clause alone under its clause. On unless turned off.

**importTermsFrom** `string`

The documentId whose defined terms this document uses: a HERO document in the same project that defines terms. "" stops importing them.
