# Update table view

`update_table_view`

Change a view: its name, type, filters, sort, columns or type settings. Only what you pass changes; filters, sort and columns are replaced as a whole when given. Documents embedding the view show the change at once.

## Parameters

**viewId** `string` *required*

**name** `string`

**type** `string, enum: 'table' | 'list' | 'board' | 'gallery' | 'calendar' | 'timeline' | 'chart' | 'figure' | 'map' | 'checklist'`

**filters** `array\<object\>`

Conditions, all of which must hold (any, with conjunction "or"). Each is \{ column, op, value } — column by name or id; a nested \{ conjunction, filters } groups conditions. Operators by column type — text: contains, not\_contains, is, is\_not, is\_empty, is\_not\_empty; number/money: eq, neq, gt, gte, lt, lte, is\_empty, is\_not\_empty; select/multiSelect: is, is\_not, is\_empty, is\_not\_empty (value = an option's label); checkbox: is\_checked, is\_unchecked; date: is, before, after, on\_or\_before, on\_or\_after, due\_within, is\_empty, is\_not\_empty (value YYYY-MM-DD; due\_within = days from today, overdue included); person: is, is\_not, contains, not\_contains, is\_empty, is\_not\_empty; approval: is\_approved, is\_not\_approved, approved\_by, not\_approved\_by, approved\_on, approved\_before, approved\_after; progress: is\_complete, is\_not\_complete, gte, gt, lte, lt, eq, neq, is\_empty, is\_not\_empty. A formula column filters as the type it returns.

**conjunction** `string, enum: 'and' | 'or'`

**sort** `array\<object\>`

\[\{ column, direction: 'asc' | 'desc' }], first key first.

**columns** `array\<string\>`

The columns to show, in any order; every other one is hidden (the identifier always shows).

**hiddenColumns** `array\<string\>`

Alternative to columns: just these are hidden.

**groupBy** `string`

Board: the select column its lanes come from. Chart: the column whose values are the categories.

**ignoreParameters** `array\<string\>`

Ids of page parameters this view must not be narrowed by — e.g. a total that should stay a total when the page's status control is set.

**figure** `object`

For type figure — one number on a card: \{ aggregate, valueColumn, title, decimals, trend: up-good|up-bad|neutral, hideSource, comparison: \{ filters, label } (the same measure with these conditions replacing the view's own on the same columns, drawn as a delta, e.g. last month), subtitle: \{ aggregate, valueColumn, filters, clear: \[columns whose conditions are lifted], template: 'of \{value} this cycle', decimals } }. The view's filters are the figure's scope.

**chart** `object`

For type chart: \{ kind: bar|line|pie, aggregate: count|sum|avg, valueColumn, title, description, caption, captionDescription, centerLabel (pie), order: value-desc|value-asc|label-asc|label-desc|row, limit (top N, the rest folds into Other) }. groupBy is required. Readers click a category to filter the page.

**checklist** `object`

For type checklist — a short to-do list: \{ titleColumn, details: \[columns], completion (a checkbox or approval column ticking writes to), due (a date column drawn as a countdown), limit }.

**board** `object`

For type board: \{ cardSize: sm|md|lg, cover (image column), hideEmptyGroups, showColumnLabels }.

**gallery** `object`

For type gallery: \{ cardSize, cover, fit: cover|contain, showColumnLabels }.

**list** `object`

For type list: \{ titleColumn, layout: inline|nested, marker: decimal|disc|none }.
