update_column
Change a table column’s name, type, selectOptions, linkedTableId, relation filter or progress options. A new name must be unique within the table; placeholders showing the column pick up the new name. A type change converts the existing values; the identifier column’s type cannot change. For select/multiSelect: pass selectOptions to replace the available options. For oneMany: pass linkedTableId to change the linked table. For progress: pass progress to change what it counts or how it is drawn; every cell is re-read.
Parameters
string
required
string
string, enum: 'string' | 'number' | 'money' | 'date' | 'time' | 'checkbox' | 'select' | 'multiSelect' | 'email' | 'url' | 'phone' | 'location' | 'linkCell' | 'oneMany' | 'computed' | 'reference' | 'timer' | 'approval' | 'person' | 'progress'
array<string>
For select/multiSelect: the new available option labels.
string
For oneMany: the _id of the table to link to.
object
For progress: what the column counts and how it is drawn. mode ‘percent’ reads a cell as a percentage out of 100; mode ‘unit’ reads it as a count out of
total, named by unit (“steps”, “pages”, “claims”). Cells then take the figure: 3 for “3 / 10 steps”, 42 for “42%” — never more than the total; a figure past it is written as the total.string, enum: 'and' | 'or'
How the filter’s conditions combine. Defaults to and.
array<object>
For oneMany: narrow which rows of the linked table may be chosen. Conditions combine per filterConjunction. Give
value for a fixed condition, or sourceColumnId to read the comparand off the row being edited — the latter is what lets one reference table serve every coded field. Pass an empty array to clear. Changing a filter never clears existing values.boolean
Required when a type change would leave values unreadable. Call without it first: the refusal reports how many values would be resolved and how many cleared.
